Processing Payroll in Paychex

Connect

  1. Click the Reports icon in the navigation menu
  2. Click the Library tab
  3. Click the Paychex folder
  4. Click the Paychex Punch Detail report
  5. Select the applicable pay period from Date Range dropdown options
  6. Click the Launch in New Window button
  7. Click the CSV button to download the spreadsheet
  8. Go back to the Connect tab
  9. Click on the Exports tab
  10. Navigate to the correct pay period end date
  11. Click on the Build Payroll report

    The report will download to the computer



Paychex

  1. Click on the Time & Attendance on the left side navigation
  2. Click the 3 dots on the far right
  3. Click the Configuration option
  4. Expand the Imports accordion
  5. Click on the Imports Template option
  6. Double-click on the Time Card template
  7. Click on the Choose File button on right side

    *DO NOT change the order of the fields in the left section*

  8. Select the Paychex Punch Detail CSV file
  9. Click the Save and Begin Import button
  10. Review the import Preview
  11. Click the Add to Import Queue button
  12. Click the Close button
  13. Expand the Imports accordion
  14. Click on the Imports Template option
  15. Click on the Import History button at the bottom of he table
  16. Confirm if the Import was successful
    1. If no, then double-click on the row to review errors
    2. If yes, continue to next step
  17. Click on the Time & Attendance  on the left side navigation
  18. Click on the Time cards tab
  19. Navigate to the correct pay period
  20. Select Period view option the the view dropdown
  21. Confirm that the hours have populated from the import
  22. Click on the Payroll tab
  23. Select the pay period
  24. Match the total Regular hours and OT Hours to the total hours in column D of the Export sheet in the Build Payroll report from Connect
  25. Click the Submit button to push the hours from Time & Attendance to Payroll Center
  26. Click on the Payroll Center on the left side navigation
  27. Click on the Begin button
  28. Select the Automatically create checks for employee & contractor salary, hours & recurring amounts option
  29. Click the Continue button
  30. Match Total Amounts in top right corner to the Total Salaries + Total Amount in Employee Summary sheet of the Build Payroll report from Connect
  31. Navigate to the layout applicable for adding the payroll modifiers
  32. Review & Confirm individual employees total amounts for employee who have had rate changes and multiple role / pay rate
  33. Click the Review & Submit button
  34. Confirm your totals and review your reports
  35. Finish by clicking the Submit button
