Processing Payroll in Paychex
Connect
- Click the Reports icon in the navigation menu
- Click the Library tab
- Click the Paychex folder
- Click the Paychex Punch Detail report
- Select the applicable pay period from Date Range dropdown options
- Click the Launch in New Window button
- Click the CSV button to download the spreadsheet
- Go back to the Connect tab
- Click on the Exports tab
- Navigate to the correct pay period end date

Click on the Build Payroll report
The report will download to the computer
Paychex
- Click on the Time & Attendance on the left side navigation
- Click the 3 dots on the far right
- Click the Configuration option
- Expand the Imports accordion
- Click on the Imports Template option
- Double-click on the Time Card template

Click on the Choose File button on right side
*DO NOT change the order of the fields in the left section*
- Select the Paychex Punch Detail CSV file
- Click the Save and Begin Import button
- Review the import Preview
- Click the Add to Import Queue button
- Click the Close button
- Expand the Imports accordion
- Click on the Imports Template option
- Click on the Import History button at the bottom of he table
- Confirm if the Import was successful
- If no, then double-click on the row to review errors
- If yes, continue to next step
- Click on the Time & Attendance on the left side navigation
- Click on the Time cards tab
- Navigate to the correct pay period
- Select Period view option the the view dropdown
- Confirm that the hours have populated from the import
- Click on the Payroll tab
- Select the pay period
- Match the total Regular hours and OT Hours to the total hours in column D of the Export sheet in the Build Payroll report from Connect
- Click the Submit button to push the hours from Time & Attendance to Payroll Center
- Click on the Payroll Center on the left side navigation
- Click on the Begin button
- Select the Automatically create checks for employee & contractor salary, hours & recurring amounts option
- Click the Continue button
- Match Total Amounts in top right corner to the Total Salaries + Total Amount in Employee Summary sheet of the Build Payroll report from Connect
- Navigate to the layout applicable for adding the payroll modifiers
- Review & Confirm individual employees total amounts for employee who have had rate changes and multiple role / pay rate
- Click the Review & Submit button
- Confirm your totals and review your reports
- Finish by clicking the Submit button
