Transitioning to HR 2.1 ≡

Why is Big Chip doing this?

  • This transition allows us to make one of our biggest feature requests come to life:
    Single User - Multi-location Access.
  • Allow for logging in using personal email address to access all locations.
  • It also means: All Training Centre Quizzes will be merged into the primary account.
  • Check out all of the new feature that have been add to HR 2.1 in the Release 20.10.04 - Human Resources 2.1.

How does this impact me?

Employee Management Ownership Accounting

Logging In

Users must use their personal email address (main email address in Connect)
instead of the login name provided previously. A reminder will appear on
the login screen to help with this transition until all users are migrated to HR 2.1.

New Hires

A new mobile friendly Welcome Package replaces the old one. This is an aesthetic change.

Management will now enter both Federal and Provincial TD1 information during the Activation Process. Please keep in mind you are still required to check both the employee's SIN card as well as review and keep the TD1 forms safely stored on-premise.

You will now have access to both the Federal and Provincial TD1 entries.

Web-App

No change beyond using your personal email address (main email address in Connect) to login as mentioned above.

Desktop-Portal

A new interface will replace the old one. This is an aesthetic change. Auto-validate has been removed in favour of a much more comprehensive manual Validate button.

How do I prepare for the transition:

  • Ensure everyone is using a correct / up to date personal email address.
  • It is very much preferred to use a personal email address and not one provided by your employer
  • Your new identity is linked to your personal email address (main email address in Connect) and so is any other data including ones used for payroll.

What if I have multiple accounts or work in multiple locations?

  • Ensure all your accounts are using the same personal email address.
  • It is very much preferred to use a personal email address and not one provided by your employer
  • All your accounts will be merged into a single account and you will be able to switch between them.
  • Should you experience any problems, please follow the following steps:

  1. Contact your management team to ensure the correct personal email address is used.
  2. Request your management team to reset your password.
  3. If the password reset fails, have your management team contact the Big Chip Support Team.
