Important Note

  • We use a government provided algorithm to validate Social Insurance Numbers (SIN). 
  • However, we can not confirm if a SIN belongs to a specific individual.
  • You can validate a SIN manually by visiting the CPA SIN Validator.
Party Requirements
Employer The employer is required to request each new employee’s SIN within  three days of their employment, and maintaining a record of the SIN, along with their Federal and Provincial TD1 (Tax Documentations).
Connect
The SIN needs to be entered without spaces and any special characters – only numbers are accepted.
Employer If the SIN is invalid, you are highly advised to request to see the employee's SIN card!
